Personal Development Plan (PDP)at least 1 new objective per reviewat least 1 new objective per reviewat least 1 new objective per review

Full time, per training year unless stated. Less than full time: per-year totals stay the same and each 6-month review needs a pro rata share; 6-monthly ESRs and 12-monthly certificates are not pro rata. Check with your deanery and educational supervisor.

Notes on these numbers
  • Clinical case reviews (CCRs), LTFT: Pro rata: e.g. 60% = 36 per training year spread over 20 months, about 11 per 6-month review.
  • Personal Development Plan (PDP), LTFT: Same.

Where things usually go

TaskIn general
Add a CCRCreate a new learning log entry and choose the clinical case review type. Complete the reflective headings, select capabilities with a justification, select clinical experience groups, then save.
Add an LEA or SEAA new learning log entry of the event analysis type; choose LEA or SEA by the GMC harm threshold.
QIA, leadership, feedback reflectionA new learning log entry of the matching type.
Courses, OOH sessions, certificatesSupporting documentation (or the compliance area your deanery uses): attach the file, give it a dated title and add a note of learning.
Request a COT, CAT, mini-CEX or CEPSFrom the assessments area, choose the tool and send a request or ticket to the assessor by email (useful for hospital assessors without an account), or the assessor completes it from their own login.
MSF, leadership MSF, PSQFrom the surveys area, start the survey for the correct period; invite colleagues by email (MSF) or arrange paper forms with reception (PSQ). Your ES releases results.
PDPAdd an objective with a target date and planned evidence; mark it complete with a link to evidence. A learning need can often be sent to the PDP from a log entry.
ESR preparationComplete the self-rating for each capability with evidence before the meeting; review and sign afterwards.
Check coverageUse the portfolio's capability and clinical experience group summaries to see coverage by review period.
Prescribing assessmentUpload the RCGP spreadsheet and your reflection form as directed; your trainer completes their form.

How our tools fit in

  • The Log Writer produces plain text in portfolio order with a Copy button per section, because the portfolio has separate boxes.
  • The PDP Builder and ESR helper copy text formatted for the matching fields.
  • Nothing in our tools connects to FourteenFish: you copy and paste.

Not affiliated with the RCGP or FourteenFish; requirements change — always check the current RCGP WPBA pages and your deanery.
