Lab results reference — what the guidance says, by test
A browsable reference for common primary-care blood and stool tests. For each test you see the threshold bands and what published UK guidance (NICE, BSH, UK Kidney Association, BSG, BTA, Society for Endocrinology) says at each band, with the source cited. Search by test name or filter by panel. There is no box for patient values and nothing is worked out for a patient: read the band, then check the source and the patient in front of you.
1 · Find the test
Search by name or abbreviation (K⁺, Hb, TSH, PSA…) or pick a panel. Each test shows a typical reference range — your own laboratory's range takes precedence.
2 · Read the bands
Each band states the threshold and what the guidance says about it, with the time frame the source gives. Some bands depend on age, sex, pregnancy or medication — the band wording says so.
3 · Open the source
Every band names its source. Read the recommendation itself before relying on it, and check doses in the SPC.
4 · Open the full pathway
Most tests link to their full structured pathway (e.g. Hb → Anaemia, TSH → Abnormal TFTs) for the wider context.
